Day 8 YWIC HS Alumni

Fun blog prompt:
If you could spend a day with any celebrity who would you hang out with?

I would want to spend a day with Lindsey Stirling.

With all of that being said, for your blog prompt today, I want you to tell me how you plan to continue learning and exploring computer science.

I plan to continue learning and exploring computer science by creating my own projects for fun using programs we learned how to use, and maybe taking some CS classes in school.

If I could be the voice of any animated character, it would be Riley from Inside Out.

1. Provide an overview of your project/artifact.
(For example, I designed a video game using Scratch programming where the player, or snowman,
has to catch 5 snowflakes and avoid the flying flames.)
My project is a “What is your Spirit Animal” quiz using Python on repl.it. The user can type in their answer and at the end they see what their spirit animal is.
2. What did you plan to learn from your project? Did you meet this target?
I wanted to learn how to code using Python.
3. What computer science concepts did you use in your project?
(Variables, loops, conditional statements, functions, lists/arrays, methods, etc.)
    In my project, I used
4. What computational thinking principles did you use in your project?
(Abstraction, algorithms, correctness, efficiency, iteration or loop statements, variables, etc.)
5. How does your project relate to the “real” world? What did you learn or use that will
help you outside the classroom?
6. In your project, what did you particularly want others to notice?
7. What would you improve if you could do this over again?
8. Does this project reflect the effort you put into it? Why or why not?

Day 6 YWIC HS Alumni

Day 6-Blog        6/18/18
What have you already done with computing and technology? Include what you did these last two weeks.

Describe your Interest in Computing and Technology.
I am interested in Computing and Technology
Describe ANY leadership positions you have had in school and/or community.
At my church I am the leader of my age group, and I previously participated in 4-h.
Describe your career goals in detail. What do you want to accomplish? Why is your career goal important to you?
I would like to go to college and get a master’s degree in either computer science or  some type of child care degree. I then want to pursue a career in either one of these topics. This goal is important because both of these are something that I am still learning about, but I really enjoy.
Define a problem that is currently a problem in the world. How could technology solve the problem?

A problem in the world today is pollution. Technology can solve this problem by spreading the word to stop pollution, and creating machines that collect trash, purify the air, clean the ocean water, etc.

Day 4 YWIC HS Alumni

Fun Blog Post:
If you could be on any TV show (Netflix show), what would it be? Why? What character would you play?

If I could be on any Netflix show, it would be Liv and Maddie, because I love that show and it would be fun to be on a Disney Channel show. I would probably play a side character with very few lines.
